If you like surfing, relaxing and water sports, come to the Aquitaine coast in Gironde. On this beautiful Côte d'Argent, waves and sensations are guaranteed when you stay at the Médoc Plage campsite!

Nestling in a pine forest, the campsite Campéole Médoc Plage is located in the seaside resort of Montalivet-Les-Bains in the Gironde. A bucolic forest path leads you directly to the ocean as soon as you leave the campsite, to discover the immense fine sandy beach, only 1 km away. Surfing, kitesurfing, stand up paddle, windsurfing... this famous site for surfing enthusiasts is suitable for both experienced surfers and beginners.
This comfortable, upmarket campsite has 853 pitches, each of which can accommodate up to 8 people. For two people or families, the lodges or cottages offer 1 to 4 bedrooms and combine modernity and high quality. New features in 2023 include a pedestrian area with Otello accommodation, mini-golf, archery area, new padel tennis courts, renovated reception and restaurant areas.

Take the plunge, with a dedicated area launched in 2022, covering more than 1,300 m², including a 550 m² indoor pool. You will find 3 sensational slides and 10 pentaglides, including 3 for children. Waterfalls, paddling pools, a wild river, a whirlpool, anatomical benches, deckchairs, an open-air water garden, hoops and jet palms are among the many fun surprises that will delight young and old.
For the more sporty, numerous activities are offered by the entertainers, not forgetting a health course at the entrance to the campsite, to keep you in shape during your holiday. During the day or in the evening, the entertainment sets the tempo with shows, sports tournaments, pétanque and themed evenings. There is something for all the family!
The younger ones can spend their days having fun and making friends at the Kids Club (4 to 13 years old) and the Teenagers Club (14 to 17 years old), where, under the supervision of a counsellor, they will create their holiday memories. At the Médoc Plage campsite, the restaurant(open from June 10), snack bar, bar and hot spot (open from June 10) will also satisfy your taste buds.

Explore the treasures of the Médoc

In addition to the surf spots and long sandy beaches, the area around the campsite is well worth a visit. The campsite is ideally situated between Lake Hourtin and the Pointe de Grave, around 90km northwest of Bordeaux. Here you can soak up the vintage and Californian atmosphere of Montalivet with its colourful lifeguard huts, the legendary combis on the seafront and the warmth of the local farmers' market.
Numerous châteaux and vineyards adorn the Médoc Wine Route, which winds its way through 8 famous appellations. The Médoc peninsula has preserved its scenery and natural attractions, as have the banks of the wide, wild Gironde estuary. From the campsite, an extensive and attractive network of cycle paths and footpaths allow you to stroll peacefully and easily over relatively flat terrain.

Discover the Region

It is easy and very pleasant to get around the campsite Campéole Médoc Plage. North of Bordeaux in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the Médoc region lies between the dunes of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde estuary. Beaches as far as the eye can see, animated by a handful of seaside resorts, an immense forest of 6,000 hectares dominated by pine trees, and quality vineyards that produce some sixty "grands crus classés", provide a great variety of scenery. Margaux, Pauillac, Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Saint-Estèphe, Saint-Julien, Listrac-Médoc, Moulis-en-Médoc: eight prestigious appellations encourage wine tourism with tastings and visits to châteaux and refined estates.
The calm waters of the lakes of Hourtin and Lacanau invite you to swim and take rejuvenating walks. On foot, on horseback or by bike, breathe in the scent of holidays in the Médoc. In the Gironde, a string of wild islands with picturesque little ports is strewn about.
Among the main towns, Pauillac is the capital of the Médoc wine region, while Le Verdon-sur-Mer, at the extreme wooded tip of Grave, gives access to the Cordouan lighthouse, nicknamed the Versailles of the seas, with a small tourist train that goes to Soulac in summer.
Montalivet beach offers over 12km of tranquil coastline with some naturist areas. To find out more about this region, which has been appreciated since the dawn of time, visit the Heritage Barn Museum on the edge of the forest, which tells the story of 100,000 years of history in the Médoc.
